The following information contains a brief overview of the various subdivisions in Duck, which begin just north of Southern Shores in Kitty Hawk and extend to the Currituck County line just north of Sanderling. The tax rate for Duck is $.34 per $100.00 of assessed value with $.09 supporting the town of Duck and $.25 to Dare County.

JAYCREST
Located on the sound side containing twenty-five lots with a minimum size of 10,000 square feet. Dare County water and individual septic tanks. No ocean access.

NANTUCKET
Two and three bedroom condominiums situated on the sound front and sound side in Duck offering outstanding sunset views with ocean views from some units. No ocean access. The association fees are $265 per month.

OCEANCREST
Ocean to sound community with 54 single-family lots. Minimum lot size is 15,000 square feet. Amenities include sound side swimming pool with bathhouse and one tennis court. Property association dues are $600 houses/$400 lots per year. Dare county water and individual septic tanks.

TIDES
One of the smaller subdivisions in Duck consisting of eight single-family home sites. Dare County water and individual septic systems. Subdivision is located on the Oceanside of NC12 and offers easy ocean access.

BIAS SHORES
Forty-nine single family lots running from the Atlantic Ocean to the Currituck Sound. Subdivision amenities include sound side swimming pool and tennis courts, deeded sound and ocean access. County water and individual septic tanks. Minimum lot size is 15,000 square feet.

TUCKAHOE
Ocean to sound community with eighty-four single-family lots. Lot sizes start at 15,000 square feet. Subdivision amenities include a sound side swimming pool and one tennis court. The Oceanside has a nice wooden walkway to the beach. The access for the Currituck sound is a pier. Dare county water and individual septic tanks. The association dues are $510 per year.

SEA HAWK SOUTH
Thirty-nine single family lots located on the south side of Seahawk Drive East reaching from the ocean to the sound. Minimum lot size is 17,619 square feet. Subdivision has private ocean and sound access. Dare County water and individual septic tanks.

SEA HAWK
Ocean to sound community with Oceanside lots starting at 15,000 square feet. There are currently twenty-one lots on the oceanside. The fifteen lots on the sound side are yet to be developed. However, there is still an ocean and sound access; the sound access is currently unimproved.

SAND DOLLAR SHORES
Located on the oceanside of Duck Road, Sand Dollar Shores consists of forty-two single-family lots with a wooden access to the ocean. Dare County water and individual septic systems. Lots are a minimum of 10,000 square feet.

GEORGETOWN SANDS
Oceanside Town homes with two bedrooms and two and one half baths. Subdivision amenities include swimming pool and tennis courts. Improved ocean access. The association dues are $435 per quarter.

SEA ACRES
Oceanside subdivision located on the south side of Plover Drive has thirty-one single-family lots. Lot size is a minimum of 15,000 square feet. Dare County water and individual septic systems.

AMY ACRES
Located on the north side of Plover Drive and made up of twenty-six single-family lots and Duck Blind Villa Condominiums adjacent to the ocean. Single-family lots are 20,000 square feet each. Dare County water and individual septic tanks.

FOUR SEASONS
An upscale community located on the south end of Duck Village. This gated subdivision offers ocean to sound properties with many amenities including indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, playground, lighted sidewalks, volleyball courts, sound side pier and a trolley to Duck attractions. Dare county water and individual septic. Annual association dues are $3875.

SEA PINES
Formerly Ocean Beach Campground, Sea Pines is located on the oceanside of NC12 and runs to the ocean. It is made up of fifty-nine single-family lots and two commercial lots. Dare County water and individual septic tanks. Subdivision includes a swimming pool and tennis courts.

OCEAN DUNES
An oceanside community with ninety single family home sites that offers not only ocean access, but also a sound access as well. Lot sizes are no less than 10,000 square feet. Dare County water and individual septic tanks.

POTESKEET
This seventy-one lot single-family oceanside community has Dare County water and individual septic tanks. The lots are 10,000 square feet and there is ocean and sound access. $25 houses, /$15 lots per year covers the association dues.

DUCK LANDING
An upscale community located in the heart of Duck Village. This subdivision offers pool and tennis, clubhouse with fitness center, sidewalks, and easy ocean access with parking. Lot sizes average 15,000 square feet and association dues are $2000 per year. Dare County water and individual septic.

SCHOONER RIDGE
This community is a popular area for renters. With sixty-nine lots of 15,000 square feet, the amenities include an oceanfront pool and indoor clubhouse with tennis, pool, and racquetball. Dare County water and individual septic tanks. This subdivision has fees of $1200 per year.

POTESKEET VILLAGE
An oceanside community with ocean and sound access. There are forty-one single-family lots of 10,000 square feet. Dare County water and individual septic tanks. The fees for the subdivision are $20 per year.

SALTAIRE
Fifty-eight single family oceanside lots of 10,000 square feet. Water is supplied by individual well and each home site requires a septic tank. The association dues are $75 houses/$35 lots per year.

BAYBERRY BLUFFS
Lot sizes on these one hundred twenty single-family oceanside home sites are no smaller than 10,000 square feet. Individual well and septic tanks. Subdivision has easy ocean access.

DUCK RIDGE SHORES
Deeded sound and ocean access in this oceanside community. These fifty-nine single-family home sites have individual wells and septic tanks. $100 per year will cover association dues.

SEA COLONY
This subdivision is a combination of sixteen single-family home sites with a minimum of 15,000 square feet, and "Sea Colony" condominiums on the oceanfront. There is ocean access and a sound front pier. The condos have a swimming pool and tennis courts. Dare County water and individual septic tanks. Homeowners in the subdivision have an association fee of $42 per month. The condo owners' fees are $155 per month for a one bedroom and $190 for a two bedroom.

CC BYRUM
Twenty-seven lots of 15,000 square feet make up this oceanside community. Individual wells and septic tanks. Improved ocean access.

OLDE DUCK BEACH
There are twenty-seven single-family home sites in this oceanside subdivision. Lots are no smaller than 15,000 square feet. Water is supplied by individual well and each home site requires a septic tank.

BARRIER ISLAND RESORT
Time-share and single ownership condo community from ocean to sound. Amenities include pools, tennis courts, restaurant/lounge and planned activities. Barrier Island has a fee of $355 per month.

SHIPS WATCH
This is a co ownership community with ten 5-week segments per single-family residence. There is a swimming pool, tennis courts and many planned activities for the co owners. There are 53 home sites with individual septic tanks and Dare County water.

SANDY RIDGE
This oceanside community overlooks the Army Corps property located just north of the subdivision. There are twenty-four home sites and the subdivision has a pool, sound and ocean access. The lots are 15,000 square feet. Dare County water and septic tanks. The fees in this subdivision are $750 per year.

ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS RESEARCH PIER
Formerly a bombing range for the US Navy, this large parcel of undeveloped land is currently used by the Army Corp as a research center to study the ocean currents, depths, tides and other aspects of the ever-changing Atlantic. The research pier is currently the longest pier on the East Coast measuring approximately 2000 feet.

OSPREY
Overlooking the Corps property to the South, this subdivision with thirty-five single-family home sites located on the oceanside has very strict architectural guidelines. Lot sizes are 10,000 square feet. Dare County water and individual septic tanks. Association dues are $300 per year in Osprey.

SEA RIDGE
This elevated oceanside community has thirty-nine single-family home sites. Minimum lot size is 10,000 square feet. Owners in this subdivision are protected by strict architectural guidelines. Dare County water and individual septic tanks. Association dues are $300 per year.

SNOW GEESE SOUTH
This is an ocean to sound community with thirty-eight single-family home sites. The lots average 9,000 square feet. Dare County water and individual septic tanks. The association dues are $330 per year.

SNOW GEESE DUNES
With thirty-eight lots of 10,000 square feet each, this oceanside community has an association fee of $100 per year. Dare County water and individual septic tanks.

CAROLINA DUNES
This large subdivision consists of two hundred and twenty five oceanside lots of 15,000 square feet each. This is an ocean to sound community with sound and beach accesses. Septic tanks and individual wells. Some lots have access to Dare County water.

NORTHPOINT
This is a very popular subdivision in the Duck area. This ocean to sound community includes twenty single-family home sites and ten co ownership homes consisting of ten five week segments per home. The lots are no less than 20,000 square feet. The association fees for individual homeowners are $557 per quarter, and $230 for co ownership owners. Subdivision amenities include an indoor heated swimming pool, tennis courts, ocean access and a sound pier. County water and individual septic tanks.

WILD DUCK DUNES
Consisting of thirty single-family home sites, the lots in this oceanside community have 10,000 square feet each. Dare County water and individual septic tanks.

PORT TRINITIE
An ocean to sound community with a mixture of single-family home sites, villas, and co ownership duplexes with ten five week segments per duplex. The amenities include two swimming pools, tennis courts, and sound and ocean access. Dare County water and individual septic tanks.

SEA TERN
This community has twenty-eight ocean to sound lots with excellent vegetation including bayberries and live oak trees. The lots are 15,000 square feet and have county water and individual septic tanks. There is both sound and ocean access, but the sound side is unimproved.

CAFFEY'S INLET HAMLET
Forty-three 15,000 square foot lots, a private sound beach, children's playground area, and private improved access comprise this development. On the sound front are three duplexes, which are the only multi family allowed in this development. Dare county water and individual septic tanks.

SOUND SEA VILLAGE
An ocean to sound community that is the only one in Duck with hard packed clay surface roads instead of paved streets. It is one of the few subdivisions that has a developed boating access. Selected lots have deeded sound access. There are one hundred and eight lots that range from 7500 to 10,000 square feet. The homes rely on individual wells for water and individual septic tanks.

GULL'S FLIGHT
An oceanside community of seventeen lots, which are no less than 15,000 square feet. There are strong architectural controls in the community, and they have Dare County water and individual septic tanks.

OCEAN PINES
An interval ownership resort that stretches from ocean to sound. An attractively done amenities package includes a sound front pier and access area, an indoor swimming pool, tennis court, shuffleboard court and private ocean access with lifeguard-protected beach.

SANDERLING
A well planned and architecturally controlled development with two hundred and ninety nine lots located at one of the narrowest points on the Northern Outer Banks. The amenities include a swimming pool, tennis, nature trails, platform tennis, health club, jogging trails, and Dare County water. Association fees vary with the different phases of Sanderling and in what amenities the owner chooses to participate.

STATION BAY COVE
A separate, distinct part of Sanderling with twenty seven lots from ocean to sound, ranging from 15,000 to 27,000 square feet.

PALMER'S ISLAND CLUB
This community consists of seven oceanfront lots that are roughly three fourths of an acre in size, and have very large (6000+ square feet) homes built on them. This is the northern most community in Dare County.

Currituck, North Carolina:

PINE ISLAND
Located just north of Sanderling is an upscale development on the northern beaches. Pine Island is bordered by 5,000 acres of land preserved in perpetuity as the National Audubon Society Pine Island Sanctuary. Oceanside lots range from 15,000-32,000 square feet; oceanfront’s average 30,000 square feet in size. The community consists of 300 single-family home sites on 385 acres. Water and sewage are central. Amenities include swimming pools, tennis courts, jogging paths, access to Pine Island Racquet Club, use of private airplane landing strip and a future beach club.

SPINDRIFT
The community of Spindrift is approximately three miles north of the Dare/Currituck County line. It is bordered on the south by Pine Island and on the north by Ocean Sands. There are 31 lots, which are a minimum of 40,000 square feet in size. There are private, paved roads, well water, septic and no amenities. Gated Community.

THE CURRITUCK CLUB
The newest subdivision and only golf community on the northern Outer Banks offers an 18-hole award winning championship course. Single-family home sites, villas and patio homes enjoy the tennis courts, swimming pools, lighted bike and jogging paths and stocked fishponds. Community has central water and septic and private ocean access. Gated Community.

OCEAN SANDS
The diverse community of Ocean Sands has lots ranging in size from 6,500 to 11,000 square feet. There are single-family homes, condominiums, town homes, and duplexes spread throughout the community. Ocean Sands is a PUD (planned unit development) with some areas offering central water and sewage, common open areas, tennis courts and a security patrol. All roads are paved. Sections A, B, and C depend on well water and individual septic systems and are not part of the property owners association. Section O has it’s own private pool and tennis courts.

CROWNPOINT
Just north of Ocean Sands is Crown Point. There are 90 building sites in this community and tennis and a pool are available. Lot sizes average 6,000 square feet. Roads are paved and there is community water and sewage.

BUCK ISLAND
A newer development on the northern beaches, Buck Island offers 90 individual home sites with tennis, pool. ocean and sound access. Water and sewage are provided by Monteray Shores facilities, Designed along the lines of the successful Duck community of Ships Watch, Buck Island offers the ultimate in luxury living.

WHALEHEAD BEACH
Approximately seven miles north of the Dare/Currituck County line and east of Monteray Shores is the community of Whalehead Beach consisting of three roads running parallel to the ocean for roughly three miles. Lots range from 35,000 square feet on the oceanfront to 20,000 square feet for interior lots. The 840 lots which comprise Whalehead Beach have private wells and septic systems. There are no association fees and no amenities. Whalehead Beach provides public parking spaces throughout the community and public beach access.

MONTERAY SHORES
A sound side community which will consist of over 630 building sites in its final phase. Monteray Shores borders Whalehead Beach on its western side. This PUD is comprised of lots ranging from 8,000 to 11,000 square feet with sound side lots and homes available. Amenities include swimming, tennis, jogging trail, sound side piers, clubhouse and more. Water and sewage are centralized. Beach access is through the public accesses in Whalehead Beach.

COROLLA LIGHT
North of Whalehead Beach and Monteray Shores is Corolla Light, A PUD of 260 lots ranging in size from 8,000 to 11,000 square feet. The amenities package is very extensive with services ranging from an oceanfront recreation center with pools, homeowners lounge, gazebo, basketball and shuffleboard; to a sound front sailing center with rental sailing equipment. An indoor rec center with swimming, tennis and health club complete the package. A tram circles through the community providing easy access. Corolla Light has its own water and sewage treatment plant and is governed by strict architectural controls. The community consists of single-family homes and home sites, multi-family dwellings and commercial acreage.

OCEAN HILL
A community of 113 lots, averaging 20,000 square feet, Ocean Hill has individual septic systems and wells. No amenities are available, but the beach is magnificent.

THE VILLAGES AT OCEAN HILL
A newer 341-lot community, The Villages at Ocean Hill offers tennis, pools, sound access, and a gorgeous oceanfront. Lot sizes vary from 8,500 square feet on the interior lots to 20,000 square feet on the oceanfront. The county provides sewage and water. This development marks the end of the paved roads on the Currituck Outer Banks.
